Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of posts on here. I was going to post about my favorite face masks when suddenly my face started being super dry and peeling. It was only then that I realized that the weather was changing, it was autumn and winter is a-coming.
During this time of year, I forget how the drop in temperature makes my skin dry and flakey, which is something I'm not used to because I have oily skin. I knew my skin needed extra TLC because I could feel how tight it was when I got out of the shower. Another indicator was how the texture of my skin felt rough.
I'm not used to my skin being dry, my skin has always been oily, especially on the T-zone. So when it starts peeling and feeling tight, I always don't know what to do. However, this time I feel like I've handled it better and am more equipped for this kinda situation now.
Behold, the products that saved my skin from dryness!
1. Illamasqua Hydra Veil
I only use this primer when my skin needs hydrating before I apply my makeup, and it works wonders. I highly recommend this product. It's a gel consistency and it comes with a little tool that you can use to scoop up the product.
2. Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturizer
This product is part of my daytime skin care routine, I just use more of it when I feel my skin needs more.
3. Skinbeau Daily Aqua Gel Mask
I use this mask at least once a week for 15 minutes and if my skin is really in need of moisture I will leave it overnight. This mask only ever gets used during this time of year and it's not a face mask that I kinda go 'Oh wow yes!' for. It's more of a 'Okay I should use it now' kinda face mask.
4. Algenist Advanced Anti-Ageing Repairing Oil
This product I usually only use at night but my skin feels so soft and supple after I use it I thought, 'Why not use it during the day too?'. Now that my skin has gotten back to normal, I save this product for bedtime. I love how great this product is but I also hate how it's not cruelty-free. I hate to say this but this might be one product that I will continue to repurchase if I can't find a cruelty-free alternative that works just as good.
Before I finish this post, I'd like to say that my skin is back to normal (oily) now so I've gone back to my usual skin care routine :) And I want to say that although these products worked for me, they might not for other people, it's really about trial and error when it comes to finding skincare products that work the best for your skin.
Hope this post helped you guys in someway, till the next post!
