3ina Long Wear Lipstick

Hey guys! Sorry I've been slacking. I've been trying out new products and gathering my thought about them for this blog and for you guys so fret not I have not forgotten about this blog at all.

I was planning on writing a brand review on 3ina, I went to Covent Garden last month and bought a range of products from them, powder eyeshadow, cream eyeshadow, eyeliner, etc. For this post it's just going to be about their long-wear lipstick, I still plan on writing about the other products that I bought but I want to try them out more before I do.

A little bit about the brand

3ina is pronoucned 'Mina' (I first pronounced them three-ina before finding out that the '3' is the letter 'M' turned sideways lol) and is a European makeup brand (I vaguely remember the salesperson telling me that the brand is Spanish/Italian but don't quote me on that). There's not a lot of information about the brand on their website, I would've liked reading about who created the brand and more about them but I found an article about them here if you guys are interested.

3ina Long Wear Lipstick

Long wear lipstick - A liquid lipstick which combines creamy application and intense color to give lips a silky, long-lasting finish. Paraben free (stated on the box)

£ 7.95

I went on their website to check their ingredient list for the liquid lipstick but there isn't one  . Fortunately, I still kept the box that it came in so I'll go on here and list them.

Ingredients : ISODODECANE, DIMETHICONE, DIISOSTEARYL, MALATE, POLYBUTENE, GLYCERYL BEHENATE/EICOSADIOATE, HYDROGENATED POLYCYCLOPENTADIENE, SILICA DIMETHYL SILYLATE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, CERA ALBA (BEESWAX), MICA, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, AROMA (FLAVOR), PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL, HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE, TIN OXIDE, +/- (MAY CONTAIN): CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 15850 (RED 7 LAKE)(RED 6), CI 45410 (RED 27 LAKE), CI 77499, CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), CI 19140 (YELLOW  LAKE)

Phew, that was tough lol. When I copied the ingredient list on google, I found no matches so it seems like it's their own formula (I learned this nifty trick from Stephanie Nicole, a youtuber who I love and recommend you guys watch, she's honest about her opinions and is really thorough on her reviews).

The brand states on their site that they are cruelty free and their products are manufactured in the EU where animal testing isn't allowed. I'm not sure if they have vegan products and their long wear lipstick contains beeswax.

Initial application

I took photos after initial application, after 4 hours, after 8 hours and after reapplying. I lined the right side with Urban Decay's Ozone lip primer pencil (it doubles as a primer and a liner). Before applying I scrubbed my lips with Jeffree Star's lip scrub and moisturized them with Carmex lip balm.

Thoughts on initial application

I found this lipstick very streaky and hard to apply an even layer all over my lips. I tried smoothening it but it just made it worse. There were parts that were thinner than some. I do think this one that I bought is one of those streaky colors because it's a bright pink that has more 'white' in it to get it that bright. I would buy a darker color next time to try out and see if there is a difference. The texture reminds me a little bit of the NYX soft matte lip cream.

Can you guys see the little chunks on the inside of my lips?

After 4 hours of wear

I ate toast with salmon pate and cheese, crisps, drank water and hot chocolate. In the picture below you can see that the inner side of my lip has faded. At this time the patchiness is really visible.

After 8 hours

To be honest, even before the 8 hours were up I already wanted to remove them because it looked really bad. Rememeber I said during application there parts that were thinner? Well, it got worse over time, the parts where the lipstick applied thicker were really visible. I was so self conscious about them when I went in Aldi where the lights were super bright. I went in and out as quickly as I could lol.

You can see on the left that the lipstick disappeared and there is a lot of crumbling especially on my top lip.

 Transferability

If you look closely, you can see a little bit of transfer. There was more transfer from the right side, which is the side I lined.

Reapplication

Reapplication was mehh. It didn't apply any better than initial application.

Hoped you guys found this post helpful. Till the next post!
