IMATS LONDON 2015

Really quickly before I write about IMATS, I know I haven't posted anything on my blog in a long time but this time it had nothing to do with laziness and/or procrastination. I was going through some major things in my life and my head space was all messed up. I was in a very dark place that nothing could/would make me feel better. That's all I can and will say about that. I'm still working through my problems and figuring stuff out but I'm not in that dark place anymore thankfully (and hopefully I won't ever go back there)

Let's get back to what this post is about... IMATS!!!!

I'm probably the last person to post something about IMATS London but I still want to write about it anyway because it's my first time attending IMATS e-v-e-r and the experience was beyond anything I could imagine. Even as I'm writing this now it's like I'm reliving the moment I went through their doors.

At first I thought that there were so many booths and was worried about whether or not I had enough time to go see them all. I arrived Olympia (where IMATS was held) around 11am.. I think, I know I left about 10ish and I would've arrived earlier but I had to go back to where my friends were because I had given them the wrong keys lol, such a scatter brain.

I took this before leaving and not when I first arrived because I was wonderstruck.

The first booth I hit up was Lit Cosmetics because I’ve been wanting their products for such a long time and was excited to swatch them which was bad because I fell in love.

I had such a hard time choosing but ultimately I narrowed it down and made my decision.

Sugarpill was there too and I went to their booth so many times because I wasn't sure what to get but the first time I went there I saw Amy Doan (better known as @shrinkle on Instagram) and had to take a picture with her which I posted on my Instagram @mizzmmj :) I went back to their booth later on and there weren't many people so I could properly swatch their products.
They weren't swamped with customers so I asked if I could take their picture because how can I not?

@asylumstar and @looooo3

LASplash Cosmetics were supposed to be there but they weren't because their factory burned down if I'm not mistaken. Nyx was there as well but ohmaigod the line was super long. I think if I were to queue and wait I'd miss out on a lot so I decided to give them a miss. Big brands like Bobbi Brown, M.A.C, Inglot and Kryolan were there too but I didn't spend a lot of time at their booths because I wanted to spend time and money on brands/booths that I can't easily get as well as brands that I have never tried from before and brands that I've never heard of before. It sounds like I missed out on getting branded products at a cheaper price but I don't feel that way because that isn't the reason why I attended IMATS. I know some people attend IMATS because of that and that's their choice but I feel like people who love makeup and the art of makeup would get more out of their money (I bought my ticket for GBP40). Also, there were special effects artists and special effects products there. When I say special effects, I mean like, characters and stuff like that... Think of Star Trek.  IMATS is especially great for makeup artists/special effects artists looking to expand their kit without leaving a huge hole in their wallet.

There was a place to grab a quick bite to eat and places to sit and there was a Pizza Express too which is always good. There were also workshops going on throughout the day and even though I had a list of workshops that I was interested in seeing I only managed to see one, which was by Einat Dan.

She made the studded horns that the model is wearing.

If I could attend the next IMATS, I'd definitely get tickets for both Saturday and Sunday just so that I can sit for more workshops.

While walking around to see the booths, I could see makeup artists working on models and I took lots of pictures when I walked passed them and made sure to go back to take pictures of their progress and their end product. There were some that I missed and only got pictures of their end product too so hope you guys enjoy the pictures <3 I will try and link the brands/makeup artists and their models so you guys can check them out
